ABSU Signs With CANDLELIGHT RECORDS

November 16, 2007

Texas-based mythological occult metal outfit ABSU has announced the signing of a new contract agreement with Candlelight Records. Drummer/mastermind Proscriptor says of the deal, "With the launch of the new ABSU lineup (members Aethyris and Vastator) and a new studio album in the works, I felt it was time to re-evaluate the career path of the band. Candlelight's expanding growth, as an independent label with their proven creative support, is one of the many reasons I feel this is the superlative opportunity for ABSU."

He continues, "Working with Osmose Productions for over 15 years has been a prosperous experience and I have the utmost respect for the label's manager, Herve Herbaut. I wish him good fortune and success in the future."

ABSU will enter the studio in February/March 2008 to begin recording the new CD for a tentative late spring release.

Proscriptor adds: "Lyrically, I am concentrating more on Sumerian-based occult themes of magick and mythology versus the Celtic aspect of my previous writings, which was heavily expressed on the last few ABSU studio albums. Musically speaking, the material will be quite similar to 'Tara', but with more of a '70s progressive/psychedelic texture within it. You will not be disappointed — trust me. I will be utilizing the first logo created by Equitant and Belgian artist Kris Verwimp will handle the cover illustration once again."
