AC/DC To Finish New Album By The End Of The Year

August 2, 2003

Australian hard rockers AC/DC plan to have a new album finished "by the end of the year," guitarist Angus Young told Billboard.com. "I'd love to get it done and so would [guitarist/brother] Malcolm [Young]. And then once we do that, the whole [touring] ballgame goes on again."

As previously reported, the upcoming set will be AC/DC's last for Elektra Records. Subsequent studio albums will be issued by Epic, which has recently reissued AC/DC's entire catalog.

AC/DC, who performed at the Molson Canadian Rocks for Toronto benefit concert this week, had planned to make a March show in New York its only live appearance of the year, but wound up opening a series of shows in Europe for THE ROLLING STONES. "We've been going at it for a while and you get intense at it, but sometimes you just have to come up for air too," Young said.
