AEROSMITH Perform Unannounced Gig At Boston Jazz Club
February 12, 2003AEROSMITH performed a 10-song set at the Boston jazz club Regattabar Saturday night following a fund-raiser that was also attended by actors Michael J. Fox and Dan Aykroyd, among others. BLUES BROTHERAykroyd joined the band for one tune and Fox took a break from dancing on a table to play guitar with his friend Joe Perry on a rousing "Johnny B Goode". But it was furniture guy Barry Tatelman, best known for the commercials he and his brother Eliot do for Jordan's, who provided one of the most memorable moments, according to the Boston Globe. Tatelman, an amateur drummer, offered $10,000 to sit in with the band. "How about $20,000?" frontman Tyler said, and a deal was struck (with the proceeds going to charity). As to what song Tatelman played, neither he nor the band knows for sure. "I just started and they went with it," he said afterward. Tyler reportedly seemed impressed.
