AESMA DAEVA Schedules Minneapolis, Brooklyn Shows
July 24, 2008Minneapolis symphonic metal band AESMA DAEVA has scheduled two shows in August and September in honor of its guitarist Earl Root, who passed away on May 23 due to complications from Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma, a cancer he had been battling for over 10 years:
Aug. 29 - First Avenue - Minneapolis, MN (Earl Root Benefit)
Sep. 07 - Club Europa - Brooklyn, NY (free all-ages concert)
Former VISIONS OF ATLANTIS/AESMA DAEVA singer Melissa Ferlaak will take part in both concerts alongside guest guitarists whose identities have not yet been revealed. AESMA DAEVA/THERION touring singer Lori Lewis will share the stage with Melissa at the Minneapolis show, but will be unable to make the Brooklyn gig as she will be in Poland with THERION.
AESMA DAEVA's fourth album, "Dawn of the New Athens", was released in early 2007. The CD, which features a reworked version of the song "Artemis" and the previously "censored" "Mozart aria 'D'oreste", was helmed by Grammy Award-winning producer Neil Kernon (NILE, NEVERMORE, CANNIBAL CORPSE, AKERCOCKE).
