ALICE COOPER Stripping Down To Open For ROLLING STONES

September 22, 2006

Launch Radio Networks reports: THE ROLLING STONES pull into Halifax, Nova Scotia, tomorrow (Saturday, September 23) for a big outdoor show in the Halifax Commons public park. Fans will get the band's full set, as well as performances by a variety of opening acts, including the Canadian rock band SLOAN, who are from Halifax; hip-hop star KANYE WEST; and ALICE COOPER. Cooper told Launch that opening for the STONES means he'll do a much different show than he usually does, without all his usual props. "You have to just play rock-and-roll, so we're playing, like, an hour of Alice Cooper rock-and-roll," he said. "Now, it'll be theatrical, 'cause Alice is gonna be theatrical no matter what — it just won't be the normal flow of an Alice Cooper show. And it'll be just great."

Cooper will open for the STONES two more times — next Friday (September 29) at the Churchill Downs horse racing track in Louisville, Kentucky, and on November 8 at Cardinals Stadium in Glendale, Arizona.

Tomorrow is also the official kickoff for Cooper's own fall tour.
