ANVIL Guitarist Injured In Fall, Temporary Replacement Announced
June 25, 2004ANVIL guitarist Ivan Hurd fell from a ladder on May 13 and broke four ribs and his left wrist. He also suffered a cracked tailbone. As a result, he will not be able to perform with the band at The Gates of Hell 2004 festival on July 24 at the FunHaus in Toronto, Ontario. His replacement for the gig will be guitarist George Vee.
In other news, our condolences go out to ANVIL mainman Steve "Lips" Kudlow, whose dad passed away recently.
ANVIL's new album, "Back to Basics", was released in March through Massacre Records. The follow-up to 2002's "Still Going Strong", "Back To Basics" was recorded with producer Pierre Rémillard at his studio in Quebec and features artwork by Christoph Schinzel (a.k.a. Stripe) of ARTWÖRKS – GraphikDesignLayout.
