APOCALYPTICA: New Video Interview With PERTTU KIVILAAKSO
August 23, 2010David "Gus" Griesinger of BackstageAxxess.com conducted an interview with Perttu Kivilaakso of the Finnish rock cello quartet APOCALYPTICA on July 17, 2010 at the Town Ballroom in Buffalo, New York. Watch the chat below.
APOCALYPTICA's seventh studio effort, "7th Symphony", comes out around the world on Monday (August 23),but will arrive in the U.S. one day later on Tuesday (August 24). The band was already popular throughout Europe before finally breaking through in the U.S. with its sixth record, "Worlds Collide", in 2008. Drummer Mikko Siren tells The Pulse of Radio he still doesn't understand why the band finally struck a chord here. "I wouldn't know," he says. "Sometimes we are amazed ourselves why people feel for our music, but of course we are pleased and happy to do it, and I think we do it straight from our hearts. So maybe that's the thing, that people catch their emotions and stuff like that. And it's original, so maybe someone is appealed to that one as well."
APOCALYPTICA will launch a headlining North American tour Monday night in Toronto, finishing up on September 12 in Seattle.
The first single from "7th Symphony", called "End Of Me", features vocals from BUSH frontman Gavin Rossdale, who also appears in the song's video.
Other guest vocalists on "7th Symphony" include SHINEDOWN frontman Brent Smith and FLYLEAF singer Lacey Mosley.
