ARCH ENEMY Guitarist Comments On 'Rise Of The Tyrant' U.S. Chart Debut
October 3, 2007ARCH ENEMY's new album, "Rise of the Tyrant", debuted at position No. 84 on The Billboard 200 chart with first-week U.S. sales of around 8,900 — approximately 25 percent less than the opening number (12,000) of its predecessor, 2005's "Doomsday Machine" (which landed at No. 87).
This accomplishment marks another milestone for Century Media Records, which is celebrating consecutive Top 100 Billboard debuts. Last week, SUICIDE SILENCE entered the Billboard Top 200 chart at No. 94 — the highest debut ever for a new Century Media artist.
Commented ARCH ENEMY guitarist Mike Amott: "It's amazing for an extreme metal band from Sweden to have such a strong debut on the Billboard Top 200 chart and we wanted to thank all of our fans for their undying support over the years. This is also a further testament to all of our non-stop touring and dedication to the U.S. territory and we are ecstatic to see all of that hard work pay off."
ARCH ENEMY recently completed work on a video for the track "Revolution Begins" with acclaimed Swedish director Patric Ullaeus (DIMMU BORGIR, IN FLAMES, LACUNA COIL). Look for the clip to make its debut on MTV2's Headbanger's Blog in the coming weeks.
ARCH ENEMY is currently in the middle of "The Black Tyranny Tour", a massive co-headlining North American trek with MACHINE HEAD, which also features THROWDOWN and SANCTITY in the support slots.
