Australia's Olympic Synchronized Swimming Team Performs To AC/DC Medley (Video)
August 12, 2012Video footage of Australia's synchronized swimming team performing to an AC/DC medley in preparation for their appearance at this year's Olympic Games can be seen below.
Sadly, the Australians were given a score of 77.430, the lowest of all eight finalists, at the London 2012 Aquatics Centre at Friday's (August 10) synchronized swimming Free Routine Final.
"It was an idea we all spoke about. We wanted something classically Australian and with a very strong beat," swimmer Eloise Amberger told the media about their choice of music for the routine.
She added, "It was a joint idea of ours and our coaches. We were very proud and honored to be swimming to some Australian music. It was [a gamble] but we thought it was suitable. It's very strong, it's dynamic, it's Aussie. It just helped us get into the groove," she said.
Last year, Canadian synchronized swimming team members Elise Marcotte and Marie-Pier Boudreau-Gagnon gave an exhibition of their routine, featuring a mix of METALLICA's "Master Of Puppets" and "Enter Sandman", during the Canadian Open championships at the Talisman Centre in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.
