BENEDICTION: We Are Not Playing Germany's HELLFLAME Festival

April 12, 2006

Long-running U.K. extreme metallers BENEDICTION have released the following statement to BLABBERMOUTH.NET:

"It has come to our attention that we are being advertised as one of the bands playing at the Hellflame festival in [Osnabrück] Germany on September the 2nd 2006. This is news to BENEDICTION!!! We think that [the festival organizers] asked us months ago if we would do it and the answer was 'seems like a good idea, send us the details and we will get back to you.' That was the last we heard from them until seeing the band's name on a poster advertising the event!!! At this moment in time, BENEDICTION are most definitely NOT playing at this festival. Any shows that we do will be forwarded to Blabbermouth DIRECTLY from the band's official information service. We apologise to anyone who has purchased a ticket thinking we are playing. We will let Blabbermouth know if anything changes in regards to this."

As previously reported, BENEDICTION have set "Killing Music" as the title of their new album, tentatively due in June/July via Nuclear Blast Records (with whom the band recently re-signed). The CD will mark the recording debut with the group of former CRADLE OF FILTH/DIMMU BORGIR drummer Nick Barker, who was most recently a member of BRUJERIA and who played with ex-FEAR FACTORY guitarist Dino Cazares in the short-lived DRIVEN BY SUFFERING (working name). Following the album's release, the band will be appearing at festivals worldwide over the summer, followed by a full-blown "No Reunion Needed" world tour starting in September.

BENEDICTION have been confirmed as one of the headliners of the 2006 edition of the Fuck the Commerce festival, set to take place May 25-27 at MZA (Mehrzweckhalle) in Luckau, Germany.
