BLACK CROWES' CHRIS ROBINSON Speaks Out On Possibility Of Future Reunion

August 12, 2002

BLACK CROWES frontman Chris Robinson says that he's open to resuming work with the CROWES (who are currently on a "hiatus"),but only if the group is doing it for the right reasons: "I would hate to wake up and be in the BLACK CROWES just to go out and make music because we had a couple of popular records in the '90s — 'cause we have nothing else to do. I don't think that would be any good. So eventually, if it comes down to it's something that's vital to everybody, and it's...Then it would be good, but until then...."

According to Robinson, working on his first solo album, New Earth Mud — due out this fall on Redline Entertainment — has kept him from spending too much time worrying about the CROWES' future: "I haven't really thought about it. I've been so busy since we got off the road getting this together, and just getting into music. Even just getting in a van and driving around, and doing some of these gigs, and doing the couple little jams I did in Malibu, it was just energizing."
