BLACKFOOT Concert Cancelled For Being Too Loud
August 1, 2005icAyrshire.co.uk is reporting that BLACKFOOT were forced to pull the plug on their comeback concert in Glasgow on Sunday night (July 31) after residents complained about the noise.
BLACKFOOT, who have toured with THE WHO and IRON MAIDEN, had reformed for a world tour and were to play their only Scottish date on the Renfrew Ferry.
But the gig was cancelled after the band did a soundcheck at the venue, which was shut recently amid controversy about sound levels, according to The Herald. It had been given permission to reopen for shows it promised would not be too noisy.
Glasgow City Council said last night that it served a noise prohibition noise order on the Renfrew Ferry after it received a number of complaints about excessive noise.
"The sound levels from the sound check may have breached the guidelines set in the notice," a spokesman said.
