BLEED THE SKY Part Ways With Bassist, Announce Replacement
January 3, 2005Orange County, California-based sextet BLEED THE SKY have parted ways with bassist Casey Kulek due to "personal reasons." "It was a mutual agreement, and we wish him the best of luck in his music and in all other parts of his life," the band write on their web site.
"All of the upcoming shows are still on, we've already begun work with our new bass player, Daylen Elsey, whom we would like to welcome to the BLEED THE SKY family," the band's statement continues. "He has flown out from Lawrence, Kansas at the last minute to keep us on schedule with shows and everything else we have coming up."
In other news, BLEED THE SKY will begin shooting their first music video this month with director Joe Lynch, who has previously worked with such bands as 311, DEVILDRIVER, COAL CHAMBER and KATAKLYSM. The video will be included on the group's upcoming debut album, due on April 26 via Nuclear Blast Records.
Formed in early 2003, BLEED THE SKY, whose average age is 22, are said to specialize in "mixing groovy metal riffs with distinctive melodies and profound lyrics." The band have previously shared the stage with such acts as MURDERDOLLS, MY RUIN, SKINLAB and DEICIDE.
