Brazilian Pop/Country Singer Says She Is Looking Forward To Seeing METALLICA Perform

September 17, 2011

Paula Fernandes, the 27-year-old Brazilian pop/sertanejo (Brazilian country) singer who recorded a version of METALLICA's "Nothing Else Matters" (hear audio below) on her 2007 album of covers, told the TopTVZ web site that she is looking forward to seeing heavy metal legends perform at the Rock In Rio festival on October 25. "I am a big fan," she said. "I hope to enjoy the show here in Brazil. It would be magic!"

In addition to "Nothing Else Matters", Fernandes' "Dust In The Wind" set included cover versions of KANSAS' "Dust In The Wind", SARAH MCLACHLAN's "Angel", ABBA's "One Of Us", PAUL SIMON's "The Boxer" and THE WHO's "Behind Blue Eyes", among other tracks.

Paula's popularity soared at the end of 2010 when she took the stage with Roberto Carlos on Copacabana Beach in Rio De Janeiro for a concert that was attended by 700,000 people. She was also invited by Michael Bolton to participate in his show in So Paulo.
