British Man Drumming Up Interest In JOHN BONHAM's Old Car

August 2, 2011

According to Express & Star, a classic car once owned by LED ZEPPELIN drummer John Bonham is looking for a new home. Current owner Bruce Screen, who acquired the vehicle in 2000 and has kept it locked up in his garage since as he was "too frightened to drive it on the roads," is hoping the car will be snapped up by a museum where it can be more appreciated.

"It needs to be seen and looked after," the 64-year-old from Blackheath, a district of south London, England, said. "I'd be interested to hear from people with ideas about where it could go."

He added, "Everyone asks what it is worth but the truth is there is no way of knowing because it's unique."

The car, which appears in LED ZEPPELIN's 1976 concert film "The Song Remains The Same" during Bonham's "fantasy sequence" where he drove through fields while performing "Moby Dick", was reportedly built in San Francisco by Andy Brizio and shipped to Britain for Bonham, who purchased it in 1974.
