November 21, 2007

Former SUM 41 and current BROWN BRIGADE guitarist Dave "Brownsound" Baksh will take part in a free in-store clinic on Thursday, November 29 at Long & McQuade (935 Bloor Street West) in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The clinic — which will focus on songwriting and how songs come together — will begin at 7:00 p.m.

To register for this clinic, email [email protected]. Be aware seating is limited.

In other news, BROWN BRIGADE has posted an unmixed version of the new song "Tired of Being a Garden Tool" on the group's MySpace page. "We are encouraging you to download it and do karaoke to it," writes the band. "YouTube it do what you like just come back for the final version and the reset of the free new record we release in about two weeks. Just click and download and burn for anyone that doesn't have a copy. Post links on your pages and we're off."

BROWN BRIGADE recently announced the addition of guitarist Chuck Coles (ex-CAUTERIZE, MURDER CULTURE).

The band's video for the song "Aggravation Plantation" can be viewed below. The song comes off the group's full-length debut, "Record Into the Mouth of Badd(d)ness", which came out on September 18.

Speaking to Dose.ca of time he decided to leave SUM 41, Baksh said, "Honestly, I really did get really thankless and I still feel like and asshole for it. Because you're up there — and no matter what, no matter who you're dealing with, no matter what country you're in — somebody wants to take something from you. If you really let that get to you and not realize that's what your fucking job is, then it is going to get under your skin and reach down into your soul. But I kind of realized after the period I've had off and just at the end of the time that I had with SUM 41 that you can't really just sit there and feel sorry for yourself...You have to make the best time on this Earth that you can."

He added, "It's weird. I've not only wanted to play metal my entire life — I've been playing metal all of my life. Whenever I was practicing off stage [with SUM 41], it would be to heavy metal."
