BUCKCHERRY: Video Interview Available
May 5, 2009Bryan Odell, a correspondent for "The Omaha Buzz", a weekly entertainment show on WOWT in Omaha, has uploaded the entire videotaped interview he conducted with members of BUCKCHERRY on February 14, 2009 at the Mid-America Center in Council Bluffs, Iowa. Watch the 10-minute clip below.
BUCKCHERRY's track "Rescue Me" has been named "theme song" for "Judgment Day", an upcoming professional wrestling pay-per-view event produced by WWE, which will take place on May 17, 2009 at the Allstate Arena in Rosemont, Illinois, a suburb of Chicago. The 2009 WWE "Judgment Day" poster features The Edge.
BUCKCHERRY has begun streaming the first version of the video for its new single, "Talk To Me", on YouTube. The group has sponsored a contest in which they're asking fans to contribute clips of themselves singing the song, which will then be edited into an all-new video for the track. The contest info says, "Record anyone — your grandma, your baby brother, even your dog — singing along to the song . . . you can make as many submissions as you want."
BUCKCHERRY guitarist Keith Nelson told The Pulse of Radio that "Talk To Me" takes the group back to its musical roots in more ways than one. "It reminds me of a song that we wrote early, early on that some of our most hardcore fans will know, 'Fastback 69'," he said. "It was one of the songs that we played as SPARROW in all of our club days before the band got signed. So in a way it's new ground for us, and in another way it's kind of like us at our most rootsy where we come from, which is that down and dirty kind of thing."
BUCKCHERRY used to be known as SPARROW during their early days on the Los Angeles club scene.
"Talk To Me" is taken from the band's latest album, "Black Butterfly", which came out last September.
BUCKCHERRY is currently on tour in Canada and plays in Edmonton, Alberta on Tuesday (May 5).
