CANDLEMASS Announce European Gigs

September 6, 2002

The reunited classic line-up of CANDLEMASS—vocalist Messiah Marcolin, bassist/founder Leif Edling, guitarist Mats Björkman, lead guitarist Lars Johansson and drummer Jan Lindh—have announced additional European dates in October. They are as follows:

Oct. 06 - Tilburg, NETH @ Club 013
Oct. 19 - Thessaloniki, GRE @ Club Hydrogios
Oct. 20 - Athens, GRE @ Club Gagarin

In other news, the group have posted the following update via their official web site:

"Finally back to the land of oil and lusekofter. Nearly 700 heads screamed and banged at the Oslo Rockefeller. Great gig and the band played like the indisputable KINGS OF DOOM they are. Norway was great! Special thanx also to Håkon and Frode! Then the boat to Finland. Boring as fuck! Fortunately they have food and booze on the ferries - it helps. A lot of die hard fans in Helsinki made the trip worthwhile. Off the ferry and down to Gothenburg. First an interview for the upcoming DVD then straight to soundcheck. The boys had some wunderbar meatballs before the gig and some good friends were there too: Andy from KING DIAMOND, Snowy Shaw and a whole bunch of other really nice people. 'Promise to drink with you next time pals'!! Early morning back to Stockholm and a pretty hectic day with signings, photos and recordings. The gig at Klubben was sold out and the show was hotter than hell. The AC wasn't on (!) and C-MASS nearly had to walk off stage. But true doom means sweat and pain and the band got some killer footage for the DVD and the P3-Live recording sounded good too. Watch this space for the date of broadcasting. And thank you so much everybody for coming to this fantastic event - hope you're still alive. Next time the air conditioning will be on and no cameras will hide Messiah and the rest of the black-clad gang. Remember, only real metalheads can take two hours of pure DOOM!!"
