CARCASS Frontman JEFF WALKER Breaks Foot
March 20, 2016Bassist/vocalist Jeff Walker of British extreme metal pioneers CARCASS broke the the proximal fifth metatarsal bone in his left foot prior to the band's March 19 concert in Seattle, Washington as the support act for SLAYER and TESTAMENT.
Walker has received medical treatment for his injury and is expected to complete the tour, which will wrap on March 26 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
The metatarsal bones are the long bones in the middle of the foot. Each metatarsal bone has a base, a shaft, a neck and a head. The fifth metatarsal is the last bone at the outside of the foot, and most breaks of the fifth metatarsal occur at the base.
CARCASS is continuing to tour in support of its latest album, "Surgical Steel", which sold around 8,500 copies in the United States in its first week of release to debut at position No. 41 on The Billboard 200 chart.
A special edition of "Surgical Steel" was released last October on CD and digitally and on vinyl in November via Nuclear Blast. The "Complete Edition" includes the whole album "Surgical Steel", along with the entire "Surgical Remission / Surplus Steel" EP. All the songs were recorded during the "Surgical Steel" sessions, which were helmed by producer Colin Richardson (NAPALM DEATH, BOLT THROWER, GOREFEST, CANNIBAL CORPSE, SINISTER, RODRIGO Y GABRIELA) and mixed/mastered by Andy Sneap (MEGADETH, ACCEPT, EXODUS, TESTAMENT).
Sorry for Walker's lacklustre performance in Seattle last night....here's the reason why! Talk about "break a leg".....just a poor man's Dave Grohl!!!!! OUCH!!!!! :(
