CELTIC FROST/STRATOVARIUS Manager Joins CENTURY MEDIA RECORDS
June 23, 2006Century Media Records have strengthened their Dortmund team with the addition of Antje Lange. As of July 1, Lange will assume the position of European Label Manager and report directly to Oliver Withöft.
Antje Lange previously led the Modern Music Records GmbH group and its labels Noise, AGR, T&T and Dynamica/Machinery. There she worked with artists such as OOMPH!, CELTIC FROST, KREATOR, HELLOWEEN and GAMMA RAY. In 2001, she initiated and coordinated the takeover of the company through the Sanctuary Records Group, where she led Sanctuary Records GmbH until 2004. At Sanctuary she worked with groups such as MEGADETH, IRON MAIDEN, GARY MOORE, HALFORD, BRUCE DICKINSON and KELLY OSBOURNE.
Since 2004 Antje Lange has managed bands such as CELTIC FROST and STRATOVARIUS through her own company.
Oliver Withöft explained: "With Antje Lange, Century Media complements its European team with an experienced executive and indie veteran. Out of our German head office in Dortmund, Antje will on one hand further develop our recent European change in distribution with EMI and on the other hand be overseeing the European artist development."
Said Antje Lange: "I am happy about this new challenge and to work with a young, enthusiastic team. For years, Century Media Records have proven themselves to be a label capable of both discovering and developing new talent, and for their convincing marketing and distribution strategies. Musically and technically they have proven to stay one step ahead of the changing musical climates."
Ula Gehret has made the decision to leave the company as of September 1 in order to pursue his long-awaited wish of forming his own music consultancy firm. For the last 12 years, Ula worked on the successful development of both Century Media's American and European offices.
Ula Gehret commented: "I am very pleased that we have found Antje Lange to run the European operations, someone with whom I have a long and very successful relationship, and who I think is the ideal choice to take this company to a whole new level. It is with reluctance and sadness that I leave behind my many friends here, co-workers and band members alike, but I must pursue my own plans, and I anticipate working together in some form or another with Century Media for many years to come."
