CHARON Guitarist Quits

November 25, 2003

Finnish goth-metallers CHARON have parted ways with guitarist Jasse Von Hast.

The following is Hast's official statement on the matter:

"After long consideration, I have decided to change my priorities around and end this chapter of my life. The band CHARON has nothing more to give me musically and my interest in playing in the group has completely disappeared. During the last year, I became totally bored with all band-related activities and have decided to focus all my efforts on my day-job. However, I will continue writing music on my own in the future. Whether or not this stuff ends up being released later on, only time will tell...

"Thanks to all the fans for all the support throughout all these years."

CHARON's fourth full-length album, "The Dying Daylights", was released in September through Spinefarm Records. The follow-up to last year's "Downhearted" was recorded at BRR Studios in the group's hometown of Raahe and was mixed at Helsinki's Finnvox Studios. The album includes a guest appearance on backing vocals by NIGHTWISH/ex-SINERGY bassist Marco Hietala and Jenny Heinonen.
