CHEVELLE To Begin Work On New Album In September
July 21, 2003CHEVELLE plan on taking September and October off to work on the follow-up to their latest Epic set, "Wonder What's Next", according to Billboard.com.
The upcoming CD, which will be recorded early next year, will feature material that drummer Sam Loeffler describes as "actually pretty heavy. We're a melodic band, because we like melody, but we also listen to a lot of heavy music, and that's what we've been into."
He added that the members of CHEVELLE are being careful not to let their success change them. "Everything is almost anti-climactic, because you work so hard, and when things do hit, you want them to last," he said. "We're writing the music we want to write, and not changing it for anyone. We're not letting the success influence our lifestyles, either."
CHEVELLE are currently on tour with Ozzfest through August 28 in W. Palm Beach, Florida. "Wonder What's Next" has sold 885,000 copies in the U.S., according to Nielsen SoundScan, and features the single "Send the Pain Below", which hit No. 1 on Billboard's Mainstream Rock Tracks airplay chart.
