Choral Group To Peform At U.K.'s DOWNLOAD FESTIVAL?

April 22, 2006

According to the Manchester Evening News, members of a demure choral group have been invited to share a stage with rock legends METALLICA and GUNS N' ROSES at this year's Download Festival, set to take place over the weekend of June 9-11 at Castle Donington, Leicestershire, England.

The Cheshire Chord, a Warrington, England-based group with members aged up to 75, usually perform in cathedrals and classical musical festivals but this summer they hope to appear at a heavy metal festival with some of the wildest men in rock.

They are considering an invitation to perform at the Download Festival on June 10 after organizers of the Donington Park event heard their a cappella version of the KAISER CHIEFS' hit "I Predict A Riot".

Already confirmed for the festival, held at the Leicestershire motor-racing circuit, are METALLICA, GUNS N' ROSES, THE PRODIGY, DEFTONES and KORN.
