CHRIS CAFFERY, GLEN DROVER Interviewed On 'The Metal File'
May 11, 2010Chris Caffery (TRANS-SIBERIAN ORCHESTRA, SAVATAGE) and Glen Drover (MEGADETH, KING DIAMOND, TESTAMENT) were interviewed for this week's "The Metal File" podcast from Montreal's CHOM-FM. You can stream the show using the audio player below.
Caffery's latest solo album, "House Of Insanity", was released digitally in October 2008 and it was made available on CD last year. The effort features "a really cool metal cover of 'Get Up, Stand Up' by BOB MARLEY," according to Chris.
Chris Caffery's previous solo album, "Pins and Needles", was released in Europe in March 2007 via Metal Heaven Records. The CD arrived in North America in June 2007 via Locomotive.
Video footage of Chris Caffery performing the SAVATAGE classic "Edge Of Thorns" on September 20, 2008 at the Flushing Library in Flushing, New York can be viewed below (footage filmed by local channel QPTV [Queens Public Television]).
Glen Drover filled in for Alex Skolnick on TESTAMENT's recent North American tour with MEGADETH and EXODUS. "My buddies in TESTAMENT called me up to see if I could help for the tour, as Alex [was going to be] away during this time," Glen wrote on his MySpace page.
Glen is working on a full-length album of instrumental rock/fusion songs. The first track to be completed was a cover version of AL DI MEOLA's "Egyptian Danza", also featuring Jim Gilmour (SAGA),Chris Sutherland (KIM MITCHELL) on drums and Paul Yee on bass. Drover said, "Everyone is playing amazing and we will also have a few special guests lending their talents for guitar solo spots. So far we have Jeff Loomis (NEVERMORE) and Fredrik Åkesson (OPETH, ARCH ENEMY) who have recently sent me their solos, which, of course, are no less than amazing. Just wait 'till you hear what they have done!!!"
Drover left MEGADETH at the end of 2007 and was replaced by Chris Broderick, who has previously played with NEVERMORE and JAG PANZER.
