Christian Act CONFIDE Calls It Quits: 'We Know That God Has A New Chapter For Our Lives'
October 4, 2010After six years together, Christian hardcore rockers CONFIDE have announced they’ll officially part ways as a band upon their return from Japan.
"I want to let our fans know that the break-up is a positive thing and that everyone in the band is still friends without any hard feelings," explains lead singer Ross Kenyon. "We decided that CONFIDE would come to an end after our Japan tour in early October."
Adds the group in a statement: "We do plan on playing some 'farewell' shows on the West Coast and we'll announce those final dates and details once we return from Japan. We want to thank fans with these shows and let them know we truly appreciate their support over the years.
"It's hard to see CONFIDE end, but we know that God has a new chapter for our lives right now. Every member of the band remains friends and the band breaking up was not due to any one person — it was a group decision."
CONFIDE released its sophomore album, "Recover", earlier this year via Tragic Hero Records. The LP sold around 2,700 copies in the United States in its first week of release. The CD landed at position No. 6 on the Top New Artist Albums (Heatseekers) chart, which lists the best-selling albums by new and developing artists, defined as those who have never appeared in the Top 100 of The Billboard 200.
CONFIDE — Ross Kenyon (vocals),Jeffrey Helberg (rhythm guitar),Joshua Paul (lead guitar),Joel Piper (drums, vocals) and Trevor Vickers (bass) — took part in this past summer's Vans Warped Tour. They've shared stages around the world since 2007 with everyone from BRING ME THE HORIZON and BLESSTHEFALL to MAYLENE & THE SONS OF DISASTER and FROM FIRST TO LAST, among others.
