CORROSION OF CONFORMITY Is Hoping To Make New Studio Album With PEPPER KEENAN
March 11, 2015Mick The Beard of Metal Gods TV conducted an interview with bassist Mike Dean and drummer Reed Mullin of CORROSION OF CONFORMITY before the band's March 9 concert in Nottingham, England. You can now watch the chat below.
Guitarist/vocalist Pepper Keenan played his first full show with CORROSION OF CONFORMITY since 2006 on Saturday, March 7 at Manchester Academy 2 in Manchester, England.
Speaking about whether there are plans for the Pepper-fronted version of CORROSION OF CONFORMITY to record a new studio album, Dean said: "That's what we're gearing up towards, eventually — to write some songs or whatnot. That's what I'm hoping we're gonna do."
Added Mullin: "I think it's gonna happen. I think it'll come to fruition. This was kind of like the testing ground to see how folks reacted, and right off the bat, everybody has been super stoked, super positive, so I can't imagine anything but us gearing up to do an album."
CORROSION OF CONFORMITY's first European trek with Keenan back in the fold since 2006 mark the first time the "Deliverance" lineup of the band has played together since 2001.
Keenan, who has been focusing on DOWN in recent years, is still considered to be a member of CORROSION OF CONFORMITY but was not involved in the reunion of C.O.C.'s "Animosity" lineup, which was resurrected in 2010 and has been recording and touring ever since.
Keenan joined CORROSION OF CONFORMITY in 1990, but he did not become the band's lead singer until the recording of "Deliverance", which came out in 1994.
CORROSION OF CONFORMITY's most recent studio album with Keenan, "In The Arms Of God", came out in 2005 on Sanctuary Records.
C.O.C.'s reunited "Animosity" lineup released its new album, "IX", on July 1, 2014 via Candlelight Records.
