CRADLE OF FILTH's MARTIN 'MARTHUS' SKAROUPKA: Drum-Cam Footage From Stockholm Concert

Drum-cam footage of CRADLE OF FILTH's Martin "Marthus" Skaroupka performing the song "Haunted Shores" during the band's February 25 concert in Stockholm, Sweden can be seen below.

In a 2012 interview with HardHarderHeavy, Martin stated about his early years as a drummer: "When I started playing drums — I was 6 or 7 years old, I think — there was no chance for me to get any drum lessons at all. Simply, there was not any teacher in my town who could teach me, so I had choose another instrument. So I studied piano and singing for 7 years. Later when I was 12 years old, I had finally got my first drum teacher and then I started my drums/piano studies in a music high school."

He continued: "Drums have always been the No. 1 music instrument for me. Though I can imagine myself composing more music for movies, games etc. I have actually just finished writing music for one game a few days ago. I see myself more as being a musician/multi-instrumentalist than just a drummer."

Asked what he would consider to be the most beneficial aspect of his career — being on stage, playing in front of thousands of people, or recording in the studio, Martin said: "I do enjoy playing live shows more, and to be honest, I do not really care if it's in the front of thousands people or just five people. Even when I'm not on tour with CRADLE OF FILTH, I'm still busy playing shows with local bands, touring with other bands or doing my drum clinics. But hey, I have to say that I'm trying to stay busy as a session studio drummer too! So the answer would probably be that I quite like both."

2014 marks the 20th anniversary of "The Principle Of Evil Made Flesh", the historic debut album from CRADLE OF FILTH on Cacophonous Records. To honor this momentous occasion, CRADLE OF FILTH is planning a whole smorgasbord of exciting stuff, including the first-ever CRADLE OF FILTH comic, the release of a career-spanning double disc best-of, and, of course, the subsequent touring.

CRADLE OF FILTH's tenth studio album, "The Manticore And Other Horrors", sold 4,500 copies in the United States in its first week of release to debut at position No. 96 on The Billboard 200 chart. The band's previous full-length effort, "Darkly, Darkly, Venus Aversa", opened with 5,800 units in November 2010 to land at No. 99.
