CRAIG GOLDY Rejoins DIO!
May 24, 2003Guitarist Craig Goldy will rejoin DIO for the group's summer European festival shows and the six-week North American tour with IRON MAIDEN and MOTÖRHEAD.
RATT guitarist Warren DeMartini, who was previously announced to have joined DIO as the band's new touring guitarist, is said to have pulled out of the gig for "personal" reasons.
Goldy, a member of DIO between 1986 and 1988 and then again in 1999-2001 during the making of the "Magica" album and the subsequent world tour, is believed to be a temporary replacement for Doug Aldrich, who has spent the past few months touring with the reunited WHITESNAKE. Goldy's last stint in DIO ended in late 2001 due to pressures resulting from his full-time job managing a limo company.
Craig's first gig back with the band will take place on June 27 at the Bang Your Head Festival in Germany. DIO's North American tour with IRON MAIDEN and MOTÖRHEAD is set to kick off on July 21 at Centrum Centre in Worcester, Massachusetts.
