DAM Putting Finishing Touches On Second Album
January 29, 2007London extreme metallers DAM are putting the finishing touches on their second album, "The Difference Engine", due later this year via Candlelight Records. An advance version of the title track has been made available on the band's MySpace page .
Commented guitarist/vocalist Nathan: "After several long months of writing, recording, mixing, re-recording, re-mixing, arguing, soul-searching, and returning to old mixes, we are finally coming to a stage where the fruit of all our efforts is in sight. The guitars sound massive. The feel of the music itself is epic. We've brought in some extra special guest performers who have made sterling contributions to some of the songs on the album. The recording itself was made in part in London's Eastcote Studios with Finnish producer Anders Nuberg at the helm, and I think his unique approach has produced exceptional results."
Added drummer Gomez: "This record will change the world. I'm extremely excited about it. It was — and still is — a very intense process. But I believe that, as anyone who listens to the final product will be able to hear for themselves, it's definitely been worth the effort. The whole thing is going to be very organic and visceral. As for the drums themselves there's pretty much no editing! I rather have that, than 'perfect' lifeless takes that sound totally unnatural. I give you the real deal, as it should be."
DAM's full-length debut, "Purity: The Darwinian Paradox", was released in May 2005 via Candlelight.
