DANZIG Part Ways With Guitarist, Singer Dismisses MISFITS Reunion Rumors
March 2, 2003DANZIG have parted ways with guitarist Todd Youth and will begin the auditioning process for a replacement later this month. No reason was given for Youth's departure. In other news, DANZIG are expected to announce the lineup for their "Blackest of The Black" tour within the next couple of weeks. The trek, which is tentatively set to kick of in May, will feature some of "the darkest, most extreme bands all on one stage," according to the tour's official web site. No further information is available at this time. In related news, DANZIG frontman and namesake Glenn Danzig has reportedly dismissed as "false" a widely-circulated rumor that he is in talks with his former band MISFITS to embark on a reunion tour this summer. Danzig, who left the group in 1983, has repeatedly stated in interviews that he would never reunite with his former bandmates and, despite reports to the contrary, is said to be staying true to his word.
