DAVE MUSTAINE Officially 'Pulls The Plug' On 'Megadeth Radio'
April 21, 2010MEGADETH mainman Dave Mustaine has revealed in his latest TheLiveLine "audioblog" that he is "pulling the plug" on MEGADETH's "predictably unpredictable" Artist Personal Experience radio station, "Megadeth Radio", which officially launched in October 2009.
Mustaine had complete creative control in the programming of his 24-hour channel, which featured interviews, news, personal commentary, and playlists of his favorite music. Between the musical selections, Mustaine could be heard talking about a variety of topics, including his band's influences, the subject matter for their songs, and his soon-to-open San Diego guitar/music school, where he plans to teach underprivileged youths.
Stated Mustaine: "I just got tired of the mediocrity from those guys [Clear Channel Radio] not taking care of stuff.
"I can't program this thing by myself. So rather than deal with the bullshit, we have decided to just walk away from it. Maybe a few months from now we'll find someone else that can do things better than how they did it. But for now I just want to tell you I've got a lot of stuff I'm working on.
"I appreciate all of your comments; it didn't fall on deaf ears with me, it fell on deaf ears after me."

About TheLiveLine: In the spring of 2008, Dave Mustaine and friend Scott Holmen approached the founders and president of SmartReply, Inc. with Dave's concept of using their technology to engage fans and artists. This innovative platform would serve as a way for fans to let the artists know what they are up to and for artists to keep fans informed of what is going on in their world.
In the summer of 2008 a Beta version of TheLiveLine.com was released and it was a smashing success. Fans and artists engaged in communication via mobile phone (voice and text messaging) and the TheLiveLine web site, which gave them exactly what they were looking for — up-to-the-minute information from each other.
