DAWN OF AZAZEL To Support MOTÖRHEAD In New Zealand
September 10, 2007New Zealand's most notable metal export DAWN OF AZAZEL has announced its first show since returning from a successful European tour in June. The band will support rock legends MOTÖRHEAD at their only New Zealand show in October.
Commented frontman Rigel Walshe: "Well, things have been uncharacteristically quiet in the DAWN OF AZAZEL camp lately. Since returning from a killer tour of Europe with IMMOLATION, KRISIUN, GRAVE and LENG TCH'E we have been hard at work on material for our next album. Progress has been great and we are fully confident this will represent the next stage of evolution in the sound of stronger, tighter and more focused DAWN OF AZAZEL. We anticipate this should be completed by the end of the year.
"In the meantime we are honoured to announce that we will be supporting yet another metal legend that we count amongst our influences, none other than the mighty MOTÖRHEAD on their only New Zealand show on October the 19th at New Plymouth's TSB Stadium. Shortly after this we shall be announcing our third Australian tour for 'Sedition' in support of one of extreme metal's strongest names."
DAWN OF AZAZEL's latest album, "Sedition", was re-released in September 2006 with a video bonus track and distributed through RED/Megaforce Records/MIC via Ibex Moon Records.
DAWN OF AZAZEL created a stir in 2005 after a New Zealand newspaper published an exposé on frontman Rigel Walshe's occupation as a police officer and the band's lyrical content (check previous BLABBERMOUTH.NET stories: Story#1, Story#2, Story#3).
