DECREPIT BIRTH Drops Off THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER Tour

February 11, 2008

California-based death metallers DECREPIT BIRTH have issued the following update:

"Well, we are very disappointed to announce that we had to drop of THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER tour due to road closures and bad weather in Wyoming. We really want to apologize to everyone who came out, or was going to come out to watch us play. We owe you all big time. We’re planning a bit of a makeup tour for the future so that you guys don’t miss out on our live set. We are very grateful to everyone on this tour package, bands and crew. Everyone treated us so well. We hope people understand that a combination of brutal weather, road closures, and the loss of heat in our piece of shit vehicle were the only reasons we decided to turn around. These elements rendered us into a position where we could not catch up with the rest of the tour. Our last night in Boise, Idaho was so awesome, but we didn’t have a clue that it was our last show of the tour. We want to thank all of our friends and fans for the best support ever, we promise to make this up. The shows we did enjoy on this tour kicked so much ass!!! This tour absolutely changed our lives, and despite the set backs, we had a killer time!"

DECREPIT BIRTH's second album, "Diminishing between Worlds", was released on January 28 via Unique Leader Records. The CD was recorded at Castle Ultimate studios with engineer/producer Zack Ohren.

Guitarist/vocalist Matt Sotelo previously said about the CD, "This album will be a step in more of a melodic and progressive direction yet still have a heavy dose of technical brutality. Very reminiscent of bands such as later DEATH, CYNIC and QUO VADIS mixed with the brutality that DECREPIT BIRTH is known for. We are really trying to do something new with album, and we feel that we have grown as musicians and that 'Diminishing between Worlds' will be a reflection of that."

The band's debut album, "...And Time Begins", was released in October 2003 via Unique Leader Records.
