DEEP PURPLE: New Audio Interview With IAN GILLAN Posted Online

April 26, 2007

DEEP PURPLE singer Ian Gillan appeared on BBC Radio 5's "Simon Mayo" show earlier today (Thursday, April 26). Ian was interviewed by a political reporter in Cardiff, Wales. The segment of interest runs approximately between 0:48:30 - 1:00:00 into the program. You can listen to the show online here (Real Media).

According to a posting on DEEP PURPLE singer Ian Gillan's official web site, he will be signing copies of his "Smoke This!" book at the following U.K. Borders bookshops:

Friday, April 27 at 5:00 p.m.: Bournemouth
Sunday, April 29 at 2:30 p.m.: Brighton

Each signing session will last one hour.

In a posting on Gillan's official web site, "Smoke This! The Warblings, Rants, Philosophies, and Musings from the Singer of Deep Purple" is described as "a feast of information, pontifications, and visual representation of legendary DEEP PURPLE vocalist Ian Gillan that takes you on a fascinating journey through the heyday of rock n' roll and lends uncensored insight into those halcyon days. With more than 200 photos documenting Ian's travels and travails, 'Smoke This!' is a visual and educational treat for old and new Ian Gillan, DEEP PURPLE, and rock 'n' roll fans alike. It's a gorgeous coffee table book splashed in color and awash in stories about DEEP PURPLE, life on the road, songwriting, and the day to day life of a rock star. Ian also includes the lyrics to his songs including classics like 'Smoke on the Water', 'Perfect Strangers', 'No Laughing in Heaven', 'Trashed' and more. He talks candidly about writing and recording this music with the other members of DEEP PURPLE and adds his own Gillanesque take on the whole bloody mess!"
