DEF LEPPARD's COLLEN Plays His Favorite Riffs, Talks About Staying In Shape On The Road
June 21, 2009Phil Collen of DEF LEPPARD and MAN RAZE plugged in and tore through three of his favorite riffs — DEF LEPPARD chart-toppers "Pour Some Sugar On Me" and "Rocket", and MAN RAZE's "Turn It Up" — for Total Guitar at this year's Download festival, which was held June 12-14 at Donington Park, United Kingdom. He also spoke about how he stays in shape on the road. Watch the footage in two parts below.
DEF LEPPARD will release deluxe editions of their classic albums "Pyromania" and "Adrenalize" on June 23. The albums will feature never-before-released B-sides and live recordings as well as nine Top 10 singles from the legendary rock band. The deluxe edition of "Pyromania" will feature a 15-track live show recorded at The Forum in Los Angeles in 1983. The deluxe edition of "Adrenalize" will feature demo tracks, live tracks and acoustic tracks.
The re-releases coincide with the band's 40-city summer tour which begins June 23 in Camden, New Jersey — just outside Philadelphia. POISON and CHEAP TRICK will join DEF LEPPARD on the tour.
Phil Collen told The Pulse of Radio he and his bandmates look forward to playing their hits out on the road. "Every night when someone's singing along — especially when there's a lot of young kids there, 16-year-olds and that — it is fresh, actually makes you feel really good when there's a whole new breed of people just singing away to songs that you've done," he said. "It doesn't really matter whether it's a new song or an old song, it's still our song, so it's a huge compliment. It really is, it's the best thing in the world."
