DEF LEPPARD's PHIL COLLEN Says 'Viva! Pyromania' Residency Won't Happen Before Early 2016

DEF LEPPARD guitarist Phil Collen has revealed that the band's "Viva! Pyromania" residency in Las Vegas, which was originally expected to take place at the end of 2014, will now not become a reality until early 2016.

Speaking to the WRFX classic-rock radio station in Charlotte, North Carolina, Collen said about the prospect of returning to Las Vegas (hear audio below): "We are [planning on going back]. It keeps getting put off, though. You know, we… First, it was supposed to be the middle of last year, then it was the end of last year. We missed… We keep missing the deadline, because we have stuff… you know, [going] on all the time. So that's gonna be… It won't be able to [happen] this year, because, I think, most of [our tour] dates [for 2015] are already kind of solidified. You know, [our currently scheduled to dates will take us] all around the world. So it's probably gonna be earlier next year, hopefully."

DEF LEPPARD's first Las Vegas residency at the Hard Rock Hotel in the spring of 2013 saw the band playing its classic album "Hysteria" in full each night.

DEF LEPPARD's breakthrough 1983 album, "Pyromania", was certified at the RIAA's (Recording Industry Association of America) diamond level (10 million copies shipped) in 2004. Produced by Robert John "Mutt" Lange, "Pyromania" benefited greatly from MTV's relentless airing of the album's first two singles, "Photograph" and "Rock of Ages".

DEF LEPPARD singer Joe Elliott recently said that the band is being courted by a number of record labels wanting to release the group's new album, and he and his bandmates are currently looking at those offers.

DEF LEPPARD will return to the road April 15 for a Canadian tour, followed by Europe in May and June. A U.S. tour with STYX and TESLA will kick off June 23 in Tampa, Florida.
