Denmark's ANOMALY Calls It Quits
March 18, 2007Danish "rock 'n' metal" band ANOMALY has split up. "We had a talk yesterday about the [group's recent] concert [with VOLBEAT in ANOMALY's hometown of Odense], our future and how things are going and we decided to end this band while we still had fun during it," ANOMALY explains in a statement. "We feel that the concert at Post1 was a great way to end this as it was the highlight of ANOMALY's history. We no longer feel that we can fully agree on what direction we want to take the music of ANOMALY in. What started out to be our biggest strength turned out to be our own suicide as we all developed into more specific, individual preferences of music. No doubt that we had a lot of fun while all this took place and we want to thank everybody that has helped us on the way and everybody who let us step on them on our way. We want to thank David for joining us and leaving such a big mark on the music. We sure had some awesome times with you, man. We want to thank our old guitarist Nord for being a big part of what started out as only a dream but soon became reality as this monster which ANOMALY is took on a life of its own. And last but not least we want to thank our fans who have fully supported us at our relatively few concerts, but our time on stage with all of you guys has been some of the best moments in our lives so far.
"Though ANOMALY breaks up from this day, it does not mean that the members of ANOMALY will stop making music. The new guitarist, David, whom we introduced at the concert, will carry on with his current band PURPLE NAM, and some of the other guys you will most definitely hear from in the nearest future. Tim will as well as David carry on with his ongoing side-project, so we won't stop making music. We'll see you all out there in the big world, just not us as ANOMALY."
