DIMEBAG Art Tribute To Hit Tampa At The End Of March
January 30, 2007"Six-String Masterpieces: The Dimebag Darrell Art Tribute" — the art exhibit of guitars that have been hand-painted, illustrated and sculpted by top rockers and modern artists in tribute to one of the most influential metal guitarists of all-time, "Dimebag" Darrell Abbott of DAMAGEPLAN and PANTERA — will be on display at the the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel in Tampa, Florida for three days only — from Friday, March 30 to Sunday, April 1. After travelling the world, the exhibit is finally playing the city that spawned the whole project. Both Dean Guitars and curator Curse Mackey are based in Tampa.
This will be the largest showing to date of these beautiful guitars as recent works by Billy Gibbons of ZZ TOP, modern artist Daniel Martin Diaz, Al Jourgensen of MINISTRY, Paul Raven of MINISTRY, Nancy Wilson of HEART, Leslie West of MOUNTAIN and psychedelic art legend Alex Grey are all set to debut at the Hard Rock.
The guitars are going to be auctioned off in May to support Little Kids Rock, an amazing music education foundation. The Hard Rock event also will serve as a fundraiser for Little Kids Rock as the organizers' goal is to establish a chapter of Little Kids Rock in the Tampa Bay area as well as in the Dallas area, home of Dimebag.

Friday, March 30, 7 to 11 p.m. - Opening party hosted by Curse Mackey
