DIMMU BORGIR Guitarist Sets Record Straight On Latest Rumors
October 3, 2008Norwegian symphonic black metallers DIMMU BORGIR have not inked a three-year deal with Roadrunner Records. Guitarist Silenoz told MTV's "Metal File" this week that he's heard rumors suggesting his band's next album would not be issued by Nuclear Blast but shot them down. "I don't know where this rumor is coming from," he said. "People have been asking me about that. They've also been asking me if Max Cavalera [SOULFLY, ex-SEPULTURA] would be producing the new album, and if we're going to Egypt to record it. Where the hell do people take this from? I've never said anything like that. Sometimes confusion is good, but not when it haunts you like that."
"The Chosen Legacy", the new video from DIMMU BORGIR, can be viewed below. Directed by Tod Junker, produced by Ramzi Abed, along with the visual image filtering of Joachim Luetke, the clip is the third video made in support of the band's latest album, "In Sorte Diaboli". It is also included on the band's upcoming 2DVD+CD release "The Invaluable Darkness", which is due on October 10 (Europe) and October 14 (North America) via Nuclear Blast.
Due to a recent addition to his family, DIMMU BORGIR guitarist Galder (real name: Thomas Rune Andersen) will not be able to join his bandmates on the Blackest Of The Black tour alongside headliners DANZIG.
States DIMMU guitarist Silenoz (real name: Sven Atle Kopperud): "We have some new, temporary personnel on this tour. We needed an experienced live guitarist and found him in an old friend of mine and Galder: Cyrus of SUSPERIA. We're happy he can step in and don't plan on giving him a hard time on the road."
Drumming duties on the Blackest Of The Black tour will be handled by drummer Dariusz "Daray" Brzozowski (ex-VADER). According to Silenoz, fans can perhaps expect a few surprises when it comes to the setlist.
