DIVINE HERESY Replaces SAMAEL On MOONSPELL Tour

September 21, 2009

DIVINE HERESY — the California-based band featuring FEAR FACTORY guitarist Dino Cazares — has replaced SAMAEL as direct support to MOONSPELL on the Portuguese group's upcoming North American tour, which kicks off on October 14 in Tampa, Florida. Also appearing on the bill are BOOK OF BLACK EARTH and SECRETS OF THE MOON.

SAMAEL has issued the following statement regarding the band's withdrawal from the trek: "We've checked into every possibility with our booking agent and partners at Nuclear Blast but the financial costs are too deep into the red to make things work. We'd like to apologize to all our fans who were looking forward to seeing SAMAEL live but rest assured that we are looking into coming over again in early 2010. We also want to express our deepest regret to our friends in MOONSPELL."

Cazares had the following to say regarding DIVINE HERESY's addition to the MOONSPELL tour: "We have been waiting patiently for the perfect touring opportunity to present itself and we couldn't possibly be more pleased to be direct support to the mighty MOONSPELL this fall. This North American tour is exactly what we were looking for as we wanted a chance to perform in front of a lot of new faces that might not have been exposed to our band. This tour marks the kick-off of a massive worldwide touring campaign to support the new 'Bringer of Plagues' album.

"DIVINE HERESY is better than ever and we are embarking on this tour with only one, simple goal in mind: to annihilate everything in our path. Expect an unrelenting set and if your jaw isn't on the floor when we finish, then we haven't done our job, but that won't be the case. Be sure to come by the merch booth each night to say hello to us all and we look forward to seeing everyone soon. It's certainly been way too long."

"Facebreaker", the new video from DIVINE HERESY can be viewed below. The clip was helmed by renowned director Brian Thompson (KILLSWITCH ENGAGE) and features the band's frenetic live performance surrounded by an apocalyptic background setting.

"Facebreaker" comes off from DIVINE HERESY's sophomore album, "Bringer of Plagues", which sold around 3,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release to debut at position No. 148 on The Billboard 200 chart. The CD landed at No. 4 on the Top New Artist Albums (Heatseekers) chart, which lists the best-selling albums by new and developing artists, defined as those who have never appeared in the Top 100 of The Billboard 200.

DIVINE HERESY's first album, "Bleed The Fifth", opened with 2,700 units back in September 2007.
