'Donington Monsters of Rock 1981' Presentation Plaque Being Auctioned Off

An original "Donington Monsters of Rock 1981" Performing Artists Presentation Plaque, one of only seven ever made (one of which was given to the founding member of each band performing on the day),is currently being auctioned off via eBay at this location.

According to the seller's sales pitch, "I have on good authority [that BLUE ÖYSTER CULT's plaque] was destroyed by the band members due to a dispute with the promoter on the day, leaving six, this being one of those six. AC/DC collectors may find this item of particular interest with them being the headliners, but of course, so will collectors of any of the bands [WHITESNAKE, BLUE ÖYSTER CULT, SLADE, BLACKFOOT and DJ TOMMY VANCE] on this particular year's bill, as well as collectors of rock memorabilia in general. This is a one-off opportunity as items such as this are very rarely offered for sale, remembering the nostalgic value to bands/artists presented with such.
