DOWN: Hometown Show Will Be 'Only North American Appearance' This Year
June 17, 2006DOWN — the acclaimed New Orleans band featuring CORROSION OF CONFORMITY guitarist/vocalist Pepper Keenan, drummer Jimmy Bower (EYEHATEGOD, SUPERJOINT RITUAL guitarist),bassist Rex Brown (ex-PANTERA),guitarist Kirk Windstein (CROWBAR),and vocalist Philip Anselmo (SUPERJOINT RITUAL, ex-PANTERA) — have confirmed that their headlining show in their hometown at Tipitina's on Saturday, June 24 will be their only North American appearance this year. A high-quality webcast of the concert — which is a benefit event for victims of Hurricane Katrina — will be available via the venue's web site beginning at 9:00 p.m. CET. DOWN filmed shows on their recent European tour for an upcoming DVD. The band will also begin work on new material shortly and are tentatively planning on entering the studio in September to begin recording their third album.
DOWN's sophomore album, "Down II", was released in March 2002 on Elektra Records. The band headlined the second stage at the 2002 Ozzfest.
