DROWNING POOL vocalist Ryan McCombs has told El Paso Times that the band is currently writing material for a fourth album, which it will record early next year, and the group's label, Eleven Seven Music, might issue a live album and DVD (recorded this year in San Diego) by February.

McCombs said he just seemed to fit in when he joined. It helped that he was good friends with late DROWNING POOL singer Dave Williams and had known the band since first crossing paths on tour seven years ago.

"When (Williams) passed, they made a rash choice and got a guy with an amazing instrument — who I get along with — who just, personality-wise, didn't work out for them," McCombs said. "It was hard for them and it didn't work out. It felt like a family atmosphere when I joined. We bicker and we squabble, but we all get along."
