E! Online: No Arrest Warrant For MÖTLEY CRÜE Singer

Despite initial reports claiming local authorities in Lyon County, Nevada had put out an arrest warrant for MÖTLEY CRÜE singer Vince Neil for allegedly assaulting a prostitute on July 10, prosecutors decided not to issue said warrant because the rocker posted a $1,000 bond, E! Online reports.

Lyon County District Attorney Leon Aberasturi tells E! that there's no immediate decision on whether the case will go to trial or be pleaded out.

If it does go to trial, Aberasturi says that "a lot of [evidence] will come down to the difference in testimony of between the two."

A hearing has not yet been set, but Aberasturi says Neil's expected to appear in court to address the charge, which carries a maximum penalty of six months in jail and a $1,000 fine.

Neil's being represented by defense attorney Robert Shapiro, who's made a career out of getting celebrities out of legal jams, including O.J. Simpson.

As reported here last week, the alleged incident involved Andrea Terry (a.k.a. Trixxxie Blue),a sex worker at the brothel near Carson City, who accuses Neil of grabbing her around the throat and throwing her against the wall, according to the criminal complaint.

Back in early April, Neil, 42, entered a no contest plea to misdemeanor battery in an assault involving a record producer outside a Sunset Strip nightclub last year. He was ordered to complete 100 hours of community service, pay restitution and go through a booking process, which would place his fingerprints on file with the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.

The charge came from a fight on April 28, 2002, at the Rainbow Bar and Grill in West Hollywood with record producer Michael Schuman. The two men had never met before that night.

Schuman's attorney, Trent Copeland, said Neil came up to Schuman in the club's parking lot and struck him several times in the face. His client fell and broke an elbow when he hit the ground, Copeland said.
