EWIGKEIT Mainman: 'I'm Sick Of The Way The Whole Arse-Kissing Music Industry Works'

Mainman James Fogarty of the English experimental metal project EWIGKEIT has reportedly severed all ties with the music industry by burning all record contracts (a total of five),and has systematically burnt the "rule book" and reclaimed intellectual copyright over all previous recorded music.

After mutually agreed separation from Earache Records (who released EWIGKEIT's "Radio Ixtlan" in 2003 and "Conspiritus" in 2006),EWIGKEIT is now writing and producing the as-yet untitled second part to "Conspiritus", which draws inspiration from the turbulent time we are now living in, and the likes of the Bush administration, project for the New American Century, the "War on Terror", the 9/11 aftermath, terror-suspect internment, media manipulation, privacy infringement, surveilance society and nuclear proliferation!

Commented James Fogarty: "The music industry is dead — a floating turd waiting to be flushed. For far too long, record labels have dictated how and when artists can release music, and have also filled the pockets of many journalists for favorable reviews of their recent 'hyped' crap. I'm sick of it, I'm sick of the way the whole arse-kissing music industry works.

"As with many artists who have dealt with Earache and found no joy (I'm not going to add to all the stuff said about them — I don't need to),I looked around at other labels and got some offers, but then just came to the realization that established record labels are not neccesary for musicians to release music with integrity — in fact, it is increasingly the very opposite. The whole music scene is run by people who know nothing about music whatsoever and just want to make cash. That's never what EWIGKEIT has been about, and now I'm practicing what I preach — so FUCK THE INDUSTRY!"
