Ex-MEGADETH Guitarist MARTY FRIEDMAN Lines Up Japanese TV Appearances

The following update has been posted on the web site of ex-MEGADETH guitarist Marty Friedman:

"Marty can be seen on three separate TV programs on three separate major networks in Japan on July 3rd! His weekly show, 'Rock Fujiyama', will feature Andrew W.K. performing with Marty, and NHK's 'Pop Jam' has superstars Ayaka Hirahara and Tomomi Kahala performing with Marty. Nippon Television's 'Uta Sta!', which is Japan's answer to 'American Idol', features Marty on the judges panel.

"Marty will appear live on the top nationwide AM radio program in the country on June 28, the Japanese release day of [Marty's new solo album] 'Loudspeaker'. He will also make an in-store appearance and autograph session at Tower Records in Shinjuku, downtown Tokyo on July 9. Ken Ayugai (from 'Rock Fujiyama') will host the event. There are several TV, radio, print media and live events planned to promote 'Loudspeaker' in Japan, those of you who have access will not want to miss these events!

"Marty has the cover story in this month's Sound Designer (second time in seven months) as well as an upcoming cover story and bonus DVD in Young Guitar (also second time in seven months)

"The first video from 'Loudspeaker' will be for opening track, 'Elixir', and will begin filming on July 1. More news as it comes in.

"Marty will do one concert with Aikawa Nanase on July 7 in Tokyo and one more in Taiwan on July 29."

"Loudspeaker" features guest appearances by Steve Vai, John Petrucci (DREAM THEATER),and Billy Sheehan (DAVID LEE ROTH, MR. BIG, TALAS) and is described as "by far [Marty's] most aggressive album yet."
