EXILIA: New Album Pushed Back To January
October 13, 2008Due to "scheduling difficulties," the new album from the Italian female-fronted quartet EXILIA has had its release date pushed back to mid-January 2009 from the previously announced late October. The CD was recorded at Principal Studios in Ottmarsbocholt (near Münster),Germany and will be issued via AFM Records. ILL NINO drummer Dave Chavarri joined the band in the studio to produce a selection of songs and ILL NINO singer Cristian Machado contributes guest vocals.
Commented frontwoman Masha Mismane: "We can tell you in advance: it rocks! We are all very excited and I can tell you, that this album will be the heaviest record so far since the birth of EXILIA. We managed to 'unleash' even more hidden talents of our great guitarist Alien and with the return of our great drummer Ale, there is no lack of power! After a lot of hard work on melodies and lyrics over the past year, I'm also very pleased with the outcome of my vocals! There are definitely unique elements within every song. I wanted to give them an edge whilst maintaining the original and true characteristics of EXILIA. The mixing of the new album starts this week in L.A. so as you can imagine we are extremely excited to hear the end results soon. I can honestly say I can't wait to perform these songs live for you guys to enjoy!"
EXILIA's sophomore full-length album, "Nobody Excluded", was released in July 2006 via G.U.N./BMG Records. The follow-up to 2004's "Unleashed" was produced by Udo Rinklin and recorded by the infamous Resetti Brothers (Jörg Umbreit and Vincent Sorg),with Jeff Collier helping out with the vocal recordings.
