FILTER Mainman Issues New Album Update

November 25, 2009

FILTER is currently is in the studio recording material for its next album, to be released in 2010. Mainman Richard Patrick states, "It's getting close now. We're having a blast! The album is almost done being written.

"I know I said this was going to be a return to 'Short Bus', and it is, as well as a return to 'Title of Record' and 'The Amalgamut'.

"I might put a song (working title 'Drugboy') as the lead track because it's the return of heavy FILTER that we all need and want. It sounds like 'Columind'. Then there are a few songs reminiscent of 'Short Bus' that I think would go next.

"I asked [the fans'] thoughts and [they] told me what I needed to hear.

"[Producer] Bob [Marlette] and I are really concerned with making sure every song connects with [the fans] and counts. I've really taken [the fans] into consideration on this."

FILTER recently returned to the airwaves with its brand new single, "Fades Like A Photograph", which hit rock radio on October 30. The track was also featured in the action sci-fi thriller movie and accompanying soundtrack, "2012", starring John Cusack, both of which were released November 10. "Fades Like A Photograph" marked the first new music from the band since the 2008 release of "Anthems for the Damned".

FILTER is no stranger to movie soundtracks. Their music has been featured on soundtracks such as "Tales from the Crypt: Demon Knight", "Cable Guy", "Crow: City of Angels", "Songs in the Key of X: Music Inspired by 'The X-Files'", "Spawn: The Album"; "X-Files Original Soundtrack"; "Crow: Salvation" and "Little Nicky".
