FILTER's Tour Schedule Keeps Growing
April 14, 2008The Pulse of Radio reports that FILTER has expanded its upcoming live schedule as the band gears up for the May 13 release of its first new album in six years, "Anthems for the Damned". The trek, which kicks off on April 24, now includes 20 dates, including headlining shows and radio festivals. Frontman Richard Patrick told The Pulse of Radio why he's especially looking forward to playing as many concerts as possible. "You know, I quit drinking, I quit smoking, so the only real benefit to that, other than like having pink lungs again after five years of not smoking is the fact that I can sing really, really well, and it really makes my job easy and fun," he said. "So I'm actually just super-excited to just sing as many nights in a row as I can and just play as many shows."
The first single from "Anthems for the Damned" is called "Soldiers of Misfortune". Richard Patrick said the song was inspired by a letter from a FILTER fan who joined the Army reserves to get his college tuition paid. He was sent to Iraq and killed in a rocket attack just days later.
