There are only three contestants left in the competition (including Ari),and two more shows to go.
In other news, Ari recently met his own idol — Timo Kotipelto of STRATOVARIUS — backstage at the Tavastia club in Helsinki. The two reportedly talked for a while and sang a part of a STRATOVARIUS song together.
Commented Ari: "I have been listening to STRATOVARIUS since I was 10 years old. When I first started listening to them, I was a drummer and paid particular attention to their drums, the double-bass."

Ari is from Lahti, the Finnish town that has given birth to such metal acts as PROFANE OMEN, BEFORE THE DAWN and ENTWINE. One of his hobbies is "Hevikaraoke" (Finnish "heavy metal" karaoke); in 2005 he won the Finnish karaoke championships. Among his favorite bands are IRON MAIDEN, RAINBOW, DEEP PURPLE, DIO, PROFANE OMEN and HELLOWEEN.
The "Idols" program is broadcast in Finland every Thursday on MTV3.
